Start in the center and work outward. Each ring is a tier, from your first top-rope belay to crevasse rescue, and each color is a branch. The star chart in the middle shows how strong you are in each branch. Earn a green ring when you've learned a skill, silver once you've practiced it for real, and gold when it's drilled so well you could do it tired, cold and in the dark. Gold rings go dashed after six months as a reminder to re-drill. Tap a branch name to zoom into it, or any skill for photos, use cases and tutorials.
Skills due for review, then unlocked skills you haven't learned, critical ones first.
Skill XP per tier: 10 for Learned, 15 for Practiced, 20 for Drilled. Mastery counts skills at Practiced or Drilled, the same way Khan Academy only counts Proficient and Mastered skills. Knot photos and diagrams come from Wikimedia Commons under free licenses, credited in each panel. Tying videos play from YouTube, credited to their creators. Tutorial links open searches on trusted instruction sources so you always get current material. Learn rescue, rappel and anchor systems in person from a qualified instructor or an experienced mentor, practice them close to the ground, and re-drill them every season.
